Resource Assessment

Investing in a utility-scale or large commercial solar generation projects requires accurate, comprehensive and long-term data on the solar resource. Green Power Labs offers high resolution solar resource assessment of candidate project sites based on its advanced SolarSatDataTM technology for processing satellite imagery.
Our assessments include global horizontal, diffuse and direct normal irradiance for global applications. Specifically, our long-term irradiation data series for North American applications feature 1 sq. km spatial resolution, 0.5 hr temporal resolution, and observation period up to 10 years.

SolarSatDataTM installs virtual pyranometers at candidate sites to collect current solar irradiation data at best special and temporal resolution available. We also install temporary ground-based pyranometer stations to validate these data and fine-tune satellite imagery processing.
After SolarSatDataTM processing has been adjusted for candidate sites, we process 10 years of historical satellite imagery and derive solar resource probability parameters like P50, P75 and P90 required for financial due diligence.
