SNEC 2013 PV Power EXPO Awards Best In Class to Green Power Labs.
Over 1,500 exhibitors from 92 countries and regions attended the 7th Annual SNEC PV POWER EXPO at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Shanghai in May 2013. Green Power Labs was selected by this prestigious event to present on its expertise and knowledge of solar mapping and its potential to support China’s ambitious clean energy plans.
We are honored to have been selected to share our approaches to regional and urban solar mapping commented Dr. Alexandre Pavlovski, President and CEO of Green Power Labs. Our solar data and maps have supported utility scale and rooftop solar power plants, and we are extremely gratified to have such a positive response from clean energy leaders in China, Pavlovski added.
Green Power Labs advanced, proprietary platform delivers high resolution solar resource maps; the basis for developing policy and strategies for solar energy deployment. When layered with other decision parameters in a GIS format, these maps enable short, mid and long range planning.
Effective deployment of solar technology, particularly in the urban environment, requires high resolution solar mapping to accurately determine the impact of shading over time and space on building roofs and walls. To meet China’s growing energy demands, and its aggressive clean energy targets; urban planning must maximize the opportunity for roofs and walls to become sites for energy generation, said Pavlovski. As well, urban design must consider the impact of passive solar on heating and cooling demands. With proper planning, it is possible to manage onsite energy generation and use to make a significant reduction in GHG emissions.
Green Power Labs provides services directly and through its wholly owned subsidiaries to clients in United States, Canada, Australia, Middle East, Europe and China.
