Tidal Ecosystem of the Bay of Fundy

  • -

Operation Earth is very much honored to be supported by Green Power Labs to develop a field research volunteer project in Canada focused on the Tidal Ecosystem of the Bay of Fundy.  Each day one billion tons of water spill into and out of the Bay of Fundy resulting in the world’s highest tides. Estimated to reach heights of 54 feet this movement of water creates a land and seascape unlike any other.

“While this is not directly related to our areas of core expertise, we are very much interested in developments in tidal power and other forms of renewable energy generation” said Dr. Alexandre Pavlovski, President and CEO of Green Power Labs.  “But we also wish to support ongoing research to protect this environmentally sensitive and unique area.”

Operation Earth is field research volunteer organization with global environmental stewardship, featured with field research necessary for sustainable future to provide support to wildlife and conservation of ecosystem, Operation Earth mobilized more than 300 field research volunteers in 2013. Volunteer expedition teams participated in field research programs such as the Amazon River Expedition, Galapagos Marine Ecosystem, Saving East African Black Rhinos, and Wilderness Training of Giant Panda for Reintroduction, Snub-nosed Monkey of Shangri-La, Donglingshan Forest and Climate Change, Monitor Taihu Lake Ecosystem.

Green Power Labs’ will provide strategic support to the project and work closely with researchers in Canada to develop a field project that will add value to existing research and support Operation Earth’s mission to develop a sense of stewardship in the young men and women who volunteer as field researchers.
